Lend Me A Tenor

February 10-25, 2012

Thur., Fri. & Sat. at 7pm, last Sat. at 5pm, Sun. 2pm

Humor your funny bone with a delicious dose of pure, operatic
nuttiness that will have everyone rolling in the aisles. In
Ken Ludwig's zany comedy Lend Me A Tenor, the Cleveland Grand Opera
Company has secured the world- famous tenor "Il Stupendo" Tito Morelli,
in his greatest role, Otello, for their 1934 gala season-opener.
Unfortunately, due to well-intended but misguided meddling, "Il
Stupendo" is given an overdose of tranquilizers, rendering him unable to
perform. The local impresario, Saunders, frantically devises a solution
that will avert a box office catastrophe; he persuades his assistant
Max - an aspiring singer - to don Morelli's costume and convince the
audience he is in fact "Il Stupendo." Max succeeds admirably, but the
real star recovers and soon two Otellos are on the loose, resulting in
mistaken identities, romantic entanglements, and fast-paced hilarity.

Witty
dialogue, glamour and madcap humor bubble out of control in Nöel
Coward’s 1925 farce. We follow the story of Julia and Jane, two
upper-class friends waiting for a shared secret to arrive at the front
door. Can the virtues of married life stand firm against the lure of
lost romance? This comedy of manners consists of three acts and a
neverending supply of champagne.

APPEARING LIVE IN DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS AT

CONSECO FIELDHOUSE ON MONDAY, JUNE 11, 2012

"The Wall show remains a milestone in rock history; it will be the touchstone against which all future rock spectacles must be measured." -- The New York Times (March 2, 1980)

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (November 1, 2011) Roger Waters, the co-founder and principal songwriter of

the archetypal progressive band Pink Floyd, has announced the return of the historic production

of "The Wall” to North America in 2012. The show will make a stop at Conseco Fieldhouse in

downtown Indianapolis on Monday, June 11, 2012. His aural and visual masterpiece of

alienation and transformation will be performed in-its-entirety featuring a full band and state-of-the-art production. "The Wall” live has played more than 120 shows around the world for morethan 1.6 million fans making it one of the most successful tours of 2010 and 2011. Tickets for "The Wall” in Indianapolis will go on sale on Monday, November 14th at 10:00 AM through all

Ticketmaster outlets, the Conseco Fieldhouse box office and LiveNation.com.

The 2012 tour will begin on May 1st in Houston, Texas at the Toyota Center making a 36 show

trek throughout North America, including several outdoor stadium performances with state of the art modifications transforming the arena production into magnificent outdoor events. The tour, promoted by Live Nation, includes stadium stops in San Francisco at AT&T Park on May 11th, Vancouver at BC Place on May 26th, Chicago’s Wrigley Field on June 8th, Toronto at Rogers

Centre on June 23rd and Philadelphia at the Citizens Bank Park on July 14th.

"Thirty years ago when I wrote ‘The Wall,’ I was a frightened young man,” Waters recalls. "In the intervening years it occurred to me that maybe the story of my fear and loss with its concomitant inevitable residue of ridicule, shame and punishment, provides an allegory for broader concerns: Nationalism, racism, sexism, religion, whatever! All these issues and ‘isms are driven by the same fears that drove my young life.”
